Friday Finds: Hot chic decor under $5: Baskets

It's Friday and if you've followed Friday Finds, you are ready for another tip on what hot items can be scored from your local thrift shops. You will see that these items are near replicas of their "real deal" counterparts, which can set you back quite more cash.  Friday Finds is all about learning what to look for in your local thrift stores, and what to do with your finds once you find them!   Today's find....

It is rare that I pass up a basket.  They are great for numerous reasons.  They provide amazing texture in any room. They come in tons of shapes, sizes, and colors.  They can hold things, hide things, fill an empty space on a shelf, or stand alone.  I especially like them sitting on top of a hutch, or a tall piece of furniture, like you will see today.   So here we go......

If this is your first time reading Friday Finds, I always start with comparison shopping.  Below on the left is a brand new basket from Joss and Main that sells for $20.95.  The basket on the right looks almost identical to the one on the left, except it cost $3.99.

In the photo below, a simple basket was placed on top of the tall hutch, to fill that dead, awkward space.  Baskets are great for filling those dead spaces!

Do you use baskets to decorate your home?   They are everywhere in our house, and I love using them for my customers!
